The analysis of rail transport costs for mineral oil transport has been discussed in detail to determine the deciding cost drivers. The options to decrease transport costs have been discussed and the most relevant ones defined for the specific clients requirements. To further evaluate the options most potential locations to handle mineral oil products in Central Europe have been analysed regarding their accessibility in terms of efficient rail transport and access costs. The overall results have been compared and solutions recommended.
